Irisviel is positively inclined towards children in general, because even if she doesn't remember it, she is totally a mom. She also responded pretty well to Comet's blunt and no-nonsense attitude; she found it rather charming. Plus, to someone in her initial position of being utterly adrift and empty-feeling, she liked that Comet embraced her team for what it was even if they had a negative reputation.
Like. He loved everyone on original Takshaka, because he saw them as his saviors when he woke up in a strange place remembering only that his duty was to save people and protect the world and then immediately learned he'd failed at the latter. If the girls of Takshaka hadn't been so kind and loving to him (and thus reminded him that he could have purpose and life outside of "saving people and protecting the world"), he would have broken right there. So that's one thing.
Raven also is the only long-lasting original Takshaka member who pinged him as something other than a younger sister figure! Mostly because she was older than them and not so enthusiastically...youthful in general but also because she tended to see through his bullshit the best. So his feelings for her were really confused and murky, as opposed to the clear "these are my baby sisters!!" approach he has to Sparrow and had to Finch and Phoenix. Sometimes he thought of her as an older sister and sometimes as a dear friend and sometimes as a potential love interest and it was confusing, okay.
